Antioxidant Activity of Geum Rivale
Two species of the Rosaceae genus Geum, comprising high amounts of tannins and phenolic acids, were investigated in terms of their antioxidant activity. Antioxidant potential of different extracts from aerial and underground parts of Geum rivale and G. urbanum was studied using various in vitro methods (FC, DPPH, FRAP and linoleic acid peroxidation test). The hydromethanolic extract from the ro...
متن کاملInvestigation into biologically active constituents of Geum rivale L.
Aerial and underground parts of Geum rivale (Rosaceae) were investigated. Tiliroside, gallic acid, ellagic acid and a sterol fraction were isolated from aerial parts of the plant. The sterol fraction was analyzed using GC-MS. Eleven phenolic acids were identified in aerial parts of the plant, and eight in underground parts, by means of RP-HPLC analysis. The quantitative determination of phenoli...
متن کاملIsolation of phomopsolide A as the antimycobacterial constituent of an unidentified endophyte of the Canadian medicinal plant Geum macrophyllum
An extract of an unidentified green filamentous fungus isolated as an endophyte of the Canadian medicinal plant Geum macrophyllum exhibited significant antimycobacterial activity and a distinct 1H NMR profile. Bioassay guided fractionation indicated that the natural product phomopsolide A (1) was responsible for the distinguishing characteristics of the extract.
متن کاملRare Ellagic Acid Sulphate Derivatives from the Rhizome of Geum rivale L.—Structure, Cytotoxicity, and Validated HPLC-PDA Assay
Two rare sulphate ellagic acid derivatives were isolated from the rhizome of Geum rivale L. in three simple steps. Their structures were identified by comprehensive NMR studies (1H NMR, 13C NMR, 1H-1H COSY, HMBC, HSQC) as 3,3′-dimethoxy-4-sulphoxyellagic acid potassium salt (1) and 3,3′,4′-trimethoxy-4-sulphoxyellagic acid potassium salt (2). Subsequently, a new precise (RSD < 2.6%), accurate (...
متن کاملNatural killer cells fertile with receptors for HLA-G?
Natural killer (NK) cells are lymphocytes involved in the innate immune response against certain microbial and parasitic infections (1, 2). These cells comprise '5–20% of peripheral blood lymphocytes and are present in spleen, liver, bone marrow, and thymus at a lower frequency and are rare in lymphatics and lymph nodes. However, in the mucosal decidual tissues of the maternal uterus, NK cells ...
